What is your field, and how did you get in?
It's a bit of a mixed bag, though I focus a lot on character design and illustration. I've been to different art schools over the years, with a lot of them focusing on design and anatomy.
Where do you want your Journey to lead you?
For now I'd be happy if I could get an intern job, or a job working as an illustrator or working with webdesign.
What would you like to achieve within the next year?
With school, getting an internjob. With my personal life, finishing up some writing.
So far, how have you been developing your skills?
Studying artbooks and looking at other people's styles, mostly. I had a period where I did my art in a very anime-ish fashion, and it's something I'm trying hard to get away from.
Where does your motivation come from?
To quote the Beatles, "I get by with a little help from my friends."
Where do you go when you seek inspiration?
It depends on what I'm seeking inspiration for. There's lots of places online, like Tumblr, where I go when I need something for specific poses or historical periods etc.
What are some of your favorite artists and genres?
Of the classic artists, I'd say Leonardo Da Vinci, a lot of the Impressionist artists (Claude Monet etc.) and such. For genres, if we're talking art style, I'd say impressionism is one of them, and some of the classic renaissance.
What are some of your favorite writers and books?
Oh gosh, too much to write about there. My most favourite right now are William Joyce and Tamora Pierce and Jane Austen to name a few.
What do you listen to?
It depends on my mood, and what I'm looking for with inspiration. My tastes vary from classic music to hard metal (like Lordi or Kamelot)
What are some of your favorite movies and filmmakers?
Rise of the Guardians, and a lot of movies by Dreamworks. Jurassic Park, Guardians of the Galaxy. With filmmakers, Peter Ramsey, Francis Ford Coppola and a few others.
What is your favorite website?
I might as well say Tumblr. It has it's negative sides, but I've met a lot of good friends there, and it's a good source for inspiration. Then there's AO3 and youtube.
