·  Freelance Artist - Allen, TX
Cynical and jaded. Goes by Jay Dunn or Jak Sinclair. I draw things. Just like a lot of people on this site, I'm sure.

What is your field, and how did you get in?
Character art -- I just like drawing characters overall, and I certainly prefer making a lot of characters and conceptualising their designs and outfits.
Where do you want your Journey to lead you?
Just to a general sense of peace of mind. I enjoy drawing, and I want to continue to enjoy drawing. This just means growing as an artist and continuously learning how to better my technique as time goes on.
What would you like to achieve within the next year?
I would like to achieve animating something that isn't a couple seconds, but is actually something well thought out, storyboarded, and brought to life.
So far, how have you been developing your skills?
I've been doing my best to watch how other people do their art and replicating what I see to my own technique if I like it... Recently, though, I've been attempting to do more figure drawings to work on my anatomy.
Where does your motivation come from?
Mostly from my fiancé and friends. However, if there's a concept or an image that I come across and really enjoy, it could spark immediate motivation to work on something with that general look or theme to it.
Where do you go when you seek inspiration?
I browse a lot of stuff online. I don't typically have a theme in mind, especially since inspiration can come from anywhere and anything in my opinion. So I usually look up things that are generally serene or have good colour composition.
What are some of your favorite artists and genres?
One artist I have looked up for a long time now is Ry-Spirit on deviantART. I always enjoyed his muted palette as I have colour sensitivity, and his style is just so precious and polished at the same time, I can't help but look up to him.
What are some of your favorite writers and books?
The two people that come to mind first are George R.R. Martin and Robert Jordan. Not necessarily because I think they're the best, but more because reading their books at first brought me to breaking a kind of mould with my characters.
What do you listen to?
A myriad of things, honestly. Just whatever has a good beat or theme for me to listen to. I don't typically snub my nose at much when it comes to music. It really has to be grating for me to dislike it.
What are some of your favorite movies and filmmakers?
This one is a bit more difficult for me to really say. I don't pay much attention to the names behind movies, unfortunately. However, my favourite movie is V for Vendetta, mostly for its political messages and how it reflects our current society.
What is your favorite website?
RPRepository! Been there for a while, and the people are just so nice! The admin of the site does their very best to make sure that the site runs with no problems!! I've even done some art for the site, and have made a lot of friends there~
